A R T I S T O F S P R I N G 2 0 1 5The artistic motivation of Jesper Liengaard has its origin in a tireless search for meaning in an everyday life full of paradoxes. In the middle of a, sometimes suffocating and claustrophobic world he seeks comfort and inspiration in the calmness of nature - in a race against time. Liengaard offers us insight in a world where fragments of reality are sampled and transferred to a peculiar cartoon inspired universe.
Psychoanalysis has proven how repressed psychological problems can present themselves in psychosomatic disorders. Liengaards men replace, with their blurred and deformed bodies the mentally repressed and points at it speechlessly. But the grotesque physique also express potential as it actually evades the ruling order and represents anarchy and the boundless. www.jesperliengaard.dk |
