This year CPH:DOX has established an exceptional collaboration with SMK, where they offer a special edition of SMK Fridays. This takes place on April 1st, where there will be art talks, performances, creative workshops etc. at SMK. The following days they invite for a conversation about memory and war trauma with filmmaker Nataša Urban, a performance by musician Astrid Sonne and a modern version of the classic opera with video installations, singing and 500 glasses of milk. And then of course there are lots of exciting movies in the brand new ART: CINEMA. Recently, CPH:DOX has announced a press release about their Inter:Active exhibition. Here they will present 10 different interactive works at this year's Inter:Actve exhibition.
This year, 10 new interactive works will be shown at CPH: DOX's large Inter: Active exhibition, which can be experienced from 25 March to 3 April. The exhibition offers i.a. on a virtual living rainforest, migratory birds in a poetic VR journey and a very special sound installation based on economic data. The critically acclaimed VR work 'The End of the Night', which won CPH PIX in November, can also be experienced at this year's festival.
10 transcendent, interactive works have now been selected for CPH: DOX 'Inter: Active exhibition, which this year can be experienced at Kunsthal Charlottenborg and selected exhibition venues in Copenhagen. The Inter: Active program at CPH: DOX explores the intersection between documentarism, virtual reality and art.
"I am super happy that at this year's CPH: DOX we can present 10 completely new virtual experiences at our Inter: Active exhibition. We will show a selection of works from leading Danish artists - as well as new works developed at CPH "LAB. The exhibition focuses on a number of highly topical themes and examines, among other things, how people and nature affect each other. At the exhibition, the audience will be able to get a concrete experience of some of today's most pressing topics," says Mark Atkin, curator of The Inter: Active exhibition at CPH: DOX. Natural processes - The human influence on nature
Several of the selected works in this year's Inter: Active exhibition explore how humans affect nature. In 'Gondwana' by Ben Joseph Andrews and Emma Roberts (Australia) you can experience a virtual but living rainforest that changes in 24 hours. 'Liminal Lands' by Jakob Kudsk Steensen (Denmark) offers an experience where the fundamental energies, sun, wind, water and bacteria, connect with the audience's bodies in virtual reality. 'Myriad. Where We Connect 'by Lena Thiele, Sebastian Baurmann and Dirk Hoffmann (Germany) is an artistic VR experience about the poetic journey of migratory birds, while' The Memor: The Eternal Return series' by Lundahl & Seitl, ScanLAB Projects (Sweden / UK) is a mixed media art installation where you are led through a virtual memory archive based on the earth's deepest past to the present day. Individuality in a society Other projects examine how we interact with each other in social contexts and as individuals in a society. In 'Captured' by Hanna Haaslahtti (Finland), a new identity is assigned in a virtual community - governed by unpredictable group dynamics. 'Civil Dusk' by David Uzochukwu (Germany / Nigeria) is video art that explores the subject of postmigration. 'Drengeblå / Sange fra i dag' by Aske Zidore and Anders Lauge Meldgaard (Denmark) is a sound installation based on financial data, centered around a church pew, where you will be able to experience music sung by the Danish Boys' Choir. Some of the selected projects have been designed by artists who have previously been in CPH: DOX's talent development program, CPH: LAB. The program supports and encourages artists to work innovatively and creatively with documentary film as a medium. CPH:DOX Inter:Active line-up:
